Over the next six months I will be offering a series of monthly Saturday morning workshops for young people (aged 15-19). In these sessions the participants will be given tools to help relieve stress and anxiety in particular leading up to and during the exam period. In the quiet of Yavington studio, the young people will explore ways to release tension in their bodies through the principles of the Feldenkrais method and mindfulness. This is a physical rather than verbal approach which can help with:
A sense of well-being
Learning how to cope with external pressure
Improved physical and self awareness
Understanding the relation between effort and impact
Reducing unwanted thoughts
Learning to listen to ourselves and to others
Dealing with physical demands
Improving creative thinking
Creating calm and space for reflection

After a day at Yavington Studio you will return to your daily routine refreshed and revitalised. In a beautiful, secluded studio you can unwind and relax. You will learn how to relieve tension and stress by bringing awareness and understanding to your habitual responses - both physically and mentally. This is an enjoyable day which can help you to unlock your innate creativity. All the techniques learnt can be easily transferred. Lunch and refreshments are provided. There will be 6 to 10 people in a group. All ages and abilities are welcome. Revitalise Days can be tailor-made for specific groups.

Hours sitting at the desk, day after day, can certainly take its toll on posture and physical tension. The Feldenkrais Method can bring greater awareness of how you are sitting. By understanding where you habitually hold tension, the Feldenkrais Method can help you break bad habits. The Method takes you through a series of very gentle movements which help your brain to relearn how to sit and work with ease.
In the half-day Sitting Workshop at Yavington Studio you will experience Feldenkrais lessons which are particularly effective in helping with "computer neck" and difficulties which arise from long hours sitting down. A follow-up visit to your working environment is an option to help implement individual needs.
